A Journey Home, an Intimate Performance on Trauma and Resilience, 10/21
Granoff Music Center
20 Talbot Avenue, Medford
In this original creation, the Khmer Urban Ballet retells the journey of a Cambodian-American family navigating intergenerational trauma as refugees and descendants of refugees, and the will to survive as a family torn apart by deportation. Through a series of seven poetic scenes bringing together traditional and contemporary music, dancers draw from lived experiences and memories to invite audiences to reflect on the fractures caused by forced displacement while shining light on the emotional complexity of migration, resilience, and healing. The 45-min performance will be followed by Q&A with the artists.
