The Center for the Humanities at Tufts offers research fellowships each academic year to faculty in the School of Arts and Sciences at Tufts who are engaged in humanistic scholarship or artistic creation or criticism. We particularly invite applications from faculty whose creative or scholarly research is interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and/or fosters cross-campus dialogue. Tenured faculty, tenure track faculty, and professors of the practice are eligible to apply. Fellows may seek an appointment in conjunction with a scheduled sabbatical leave.

Applications consisting of a CV; a 1500-word research proposal; a cover letter outlining the applicant’s goals for the year, including ideas for programming that would relate to their work (e.g., a reading group meeting, an invited speaker, faculty roundtable discussion, etc); and a letter of support from the applicant’s department or program chair, should be submitted by December 15, 2024 to Amanda Pepper, Program Administrator, at humanities@tufts.edu.

Full details are available under the CHAT Faculty Fellowships page. For questions, contact humanities@tufts.edu
