Book Talk: High Rise Stories, featuring Audrey Petty, 9/20
Save the Date! Join the UEP, CHAT, and others for a special event in the Crane Room of Paige Hall on Wednesday Sept. 20th at noon for a conversation with author Audrey Petty.
Audrey Petty is joining Tufts to discuss her edited volume, High Rise Stories: Voices from Chicago Public Housing. Former residents of Chicago’s iconic public housing describe life in the now-demolished high-rises. These twelve narrators reconstruct their homes and neighborhoods, and they intricately map their passages out of them. Their complex stories of community, displacement, and survival give voice to those whose hopes and struggles exist firmly at the heart of our national identity. This remarkable volume blends creative writing and oral histories, with astute policy analysis.
All are welcome to join for this special event.
