The Center for Humanities at Tufts invites you to a special event on March 27. Dr. Diego Luis will be introducing his newest book, The First Asians in the Americas: A Transpacific History. This event will take place in the Varis Lecture Hall (Room 155) in the Granoff Music Center.

Diego Javier Luis is a professor of colonial history, as well as the history of Latin America and the Pacific World. He is a faculty member of the Tufts History Department and the Department of Race, Colonialism and Diaspora. His newest book, The First Asians in the Americas: A Transpacific History, traces both free and enslaved Asian mobility from the Philippines to Mexico, Central America, Peru, and Spain, from the sixteenth to early-nineteenth centuries. It is available now from Harvard University Press.

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. For questions, contact: humanities@tufts.edu.
