A Conversation about the Humanities, 3/14

Dear Humanities Colleagues at Tufts, 

Please join us on Thursday, March 14- 4pm @ CHAT to start a conversation about our priorities, visions, and needs at this time of transition for Tufts. As we've all observed, the humanities face successive waves of budgetary cuts, and their core value for higher education is routinely questioned. What would it mean to take back the right and responsibility of crafting our path? How can we come together to define what we need and want for our fields, labor, research and teaching? How do we articulate a compelling and clear vision for the Humanities at Tufts?  We offer an essay by Chris Newfield (email us for a copy) as a provocation and an initial anchor for our conversation.  Please join us to collborate on a shared road forward.
