Film Screening of Quiz Lady and Discussion with Jessica Yu, 3/7
On March 7th, Academy Award-winning director Jessica Yu will speak at Tufts about her work, including her latest film Quiz Lady, starring Awkwafina and Sandra Oh. The event will include a conversation with TDPS Professor of the Practice Jennifer Burton to explore topics including Asian American representation on television/film and current challenges for women and POC in media. The screening of Quiz Lady will take place at 7 pm in Barnum 08, and there will be a Q&A with students and other audience members following the screening. VMS is delighted to host a discussion about various cultural representations in media, as well as the impact of female directors of color. This event may be of interest to those hoping to discuss paths into a career in media.
