The Center for the Study of Race and Democracy and the History Department welcome. you to come visit 48 Professors Row to learn more about a new initiative, "10 Million Names." Come Wednesday (10/11) at 3 p.m. to learn more from Professors Kendra Field and Kerri Greenidge, who advise on the project. Light refreshments will be served. 

10 Million Names is a collaborative genealogical project that aims to recover the names of the estimated 10 million men, women and children of African descent who were enslaved on the land that became the United States between 1500 and 1865. 

This project has been featured by many media outlets including Good Morning America, National Geographic, AL.com, All Things Considered on NPR, Politics Nation on MSNBC, and 50 Black Enterprise
