Pedro Fernando Acosta da Rosa is an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of Bahia, musician, poet, composer, pagodeiro, samba player, ethnomusicologist. He was a cultural producer of Ponto de Cultura Campo da Tuca, researcher of the funk scene in Porto Alegre and the struggles of Black Social Movements in Southern Brazil. He has a degree in Music from the Center Methodist University (2011), Specialization in Music Feevale-Novo University Hamburg (2015), Masters in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul-UFRGS (2016), PhD in Music from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2020) and Post-doctorate in Music from the Federal University of ParaĆ­ba (2022). He was music teacher at the Porto Alegre Municipal Department of Education (SMED) (2014-2024) and the Rio Grande do Sul State Department of Education (SEDUC) between 2012-2024. Has experience in the Arts area, with an emphasis on Participating Music mainly in following themes: Education for Ethnic-Racial Relations (ERER), Ethnomusicology and Music Education. He is currently President of the Brazilian Association of Ethnomusicology Management (2022-2026); represents the ICTM (International Council of Traditional Music and Dance) in Brazil; is part of the research groups: GEAD (Anthropology and Deficiency); ETNOMUS UFRGS (UFRGS Ethnomusicology Center), which aims to contribute to the study of Brazilian and Latin American musical heritage, especially the so-called Southern Cone; Collaborator of the GEM (Musical Studies Group) at UFRGS; and Coordinator of the Black Ethnomusicology Collective.
